3 to 14 Day Tours of Endyalgout Island and the Mini Mini System - Arnhem Land.

"And where on Earth is Endyalgout Island?" I hear you ask. It's a little over 200km or 120 miles to the North East of Darwin, a one hour flight. Endyalgout Island lies tucked away on the Northwest Coastline of Arnhem Land in Australia's tropical north - otherwise known as the Top End. The first thing that strikes you from the air is the enormity of the estuary systems around Endyalgout and Mini Mini Maxi Maxi River systems.

Black Jewfish

Golden Snapper
It looks big on a map, but from the air the true dimensions can really be appreciated. The biggest system along the entire Northern Territory (NT) Coast. No wonder the place offers great lure sight casting and fly fishing.

The western end of the island protrudes into Van Diemen Gulf with the opposite end fitting snugly into a huge estuary system - the biggest in the Northern Territory. The waters edge around the Island is pitted with small creeks and gutters. On the northern side there is a beach which drops sharply away into deep water. This beach is where we base our lodge.

Threadfin Salmon

Barramundi
The area is a lure-tosser's paradise, with all the usual species to be taken on lure, bait or fly. Fishing one of the thousands of gutters for barramundi, you can turn up anything from golden snapper, pikey bream, golden threadfin salmon, blue salmon, queenfish, giant trevally and giant herring. There are numerous deep holes in the waterways that surround the Island and these are host to some really good jewfish, and other XXOS beasts, cod and grouper.

The Top End of the Northern Territory has a tropical climate. We have two seasons and these can vary slightly from year to year. The WET season generally runs from December to March with heaviest rainfall in January and February. Temperature is usually in the 30 to 34 degree range with high humidity; 80% to 100%. The DRY season runs from April to November, the temperature range is usually in the 20 to 32 degree range with low humidity, meaning very pleasant days and cool nights.
